The Farm
ARABLE
Crops are rotated between wheat, oats and beans. Ecological commitments are delivered under Countryside Stewardship.
PASTURE
Cattle graze the fields each Summer.
TIMBER
The Farm’s 45 acres of woodland undergo a constant programme of coppicing and felling, supported by the Forestry Commission.
The resulting sunlight on the woodland floor encourages the flora and fauna. Coppicing the extensive hazel has brought it back into its seven year rotation.
Many oak and ash trees have been felled. A sawmill operation on the Farm supplies green and seasoned timber to fencing and construction companies.
